Privacy Policy

Maksym Huk ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and delete information from users of our mobile and web applications ("apps"). By using our apps, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

Authentication data — a unique user ID is generated automatically. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we also receive your email address and, optionally, your name as provided by the sign-in provider.
Profile data — information you provide within the app such as your name, gender, personal goals, emotions, preferred color scheme, and notification reminder settings.

1.2 Health Data

On iOS devices, the app integrates with Apple HealthKit to write mindfulness session data. Specifically:

When you complete a breathing or meditation exercise and save a reflection, the app writes the session duration as a Mindfulness Minutes entry to Apple Health.
The app does not read any health data from Apple Health.
Health data is written only with your explicit permission. You can grant or revoke this permission at any time in the iOS Settings app under Health > Data Access & Devices.
We do not store your HealthKit data on our servers. The data is written directly to Apple Health on your device.
We do not share HealthKit data with any third party, and HealthKit data is not used for advertising or marketing purposes.

Health integration is not available on Android devices.

1.3 Usage and Session Data

Reflections — after completing a session, you may save a reflection that includes a title, session duration, selected emojis, a timestamp, and the exercise identifier. Reflections are stored locally on your device in a SQLite database.
Exhale measurements — breathing calibration data (duration and timestamp) stored in our cloud database associated with your account.
Exercise preferences — your customized breathing and meditation settings (tempo, duration, sound choices) are stored locally on your device.

1.4 Device and Technical Information

We collect basic device information to provide support and diagnose issues:

Device type and model
Operating system and version
App version and build number

1.5 Purchase Information

If you purchase a subscription, your purchase is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We receive your subscription status and entitlements but do not receive or store your payment details (credit card number, billing address, etc.).

1.6 AI-Generated Content

The app offers a daily motivation feature powered by OpenAI. To generate personalized content, we send your selected goals, emotions, and gender preference to OpenAI's API. This data is used solely to generate the motivation text and is subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy. We do not store this data on our servers beyond caching the generated result on your device for the current day.

1.7 Analytics and Diagnostics

We use analytics services to understand how the app is used and to improve the experience. These services may collect:

Screens viewed and features used
Session frequency and duration
User properties such as language preference and subscription status
Crash reports and performance data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the app and its features.
Sync your mindfulness sessions with Apple Health (iOS, with your permission).
Generate personalized daily motivation content.
Process and manage your subscription.
Send you scheduled local reminders (if you enable them).
Diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and fix bugs.
Analyze usage trends to improve the app experience.
Comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect or process data on our behalf:

These services operate under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

4. Health Data

This section provides additional detail about our use of Apple HealthKit data, as required by Apple's App Store guidelines.

What we access: We request permission to write Mindfulness Minutes data to Apple Health.
What we write: The start time, end time, and duration of your completed breathing or meditation session.
What we read: Nothing. The app does not read any data from Apple Health.
Storage: Health data is written directly to Apple Health on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Sharing: HealthKit data is never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and never sold.
Your control: You can revoke the app's access to Apple Health at any time via iOS Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Breathe. You can also delete individual Mindfulness entries directly in the Apple Health app.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide the app's services and as described below:

Reflections (local database)	Retained on your device until you delete your account or uninstall the app.
Exercise preferences (local)	Retained on your device until you uninstall the app.
HealthKit data	Managed entirely by Apple Health. We do not control its retention. You can delete it in the Health app.
Analytics data	Retained by each analytics provider according to their own data retention policies (see Section 3).
Crash reports	Retained by Sentry according to their data retention policy (typically 90 days).
Purchase history	Retained by RevenueCat and the respective app store as long as required for subscription management and legal compliance.

6. Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your data in the following ways:

6.1 Delete Your Account (In-App)

You can delete your account directly within the app by navigating to Settings > Delete Account. When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

Your Firebase authentication account
Your profile data stored in our cloud database (name, goals, emotions, preferences)
Your exhale measurement data stored in the cloud
Your reflections stored locally on the device

6.2 What Is Not Deleted Automatically

Local preferences (exercise settings, theme) — these are removed when you uninstall the app.
HealthKit data — mindfulness entries written to Apple Health are managed by Apple. You can delete them in the Health app under Browse > Mindfulness.
Analytics data — data already transmitted to analytics services cannot be recalled. It is retained and deleted according to each provider's policies.
Purchase records — subscription records are maintained by RevenueCat and the app stores for billing and legal purposes.

6.3 Contact Us for Deletion

If you are unable to delete your account through the app or would like to request complete erasure of all data associated with you, contact us at privacy@maxhuk.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
Secure authentication via Firebase Auth with support for Google and Apple sign-in
Local data stored in the app's sandboxed storage on your device

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at privacy@maxhuk.com and we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
